2nd International Conference: Applied Linguistics and Professional Practice

The conference aims to bring together scholars and practitioners from different disciplinary backgrounds around language and communication in five domains:

• Health, Therapy, Counselling
• Organization, Management, Government
• Law, Policing
• Media
• Education

There will be a special emphasis on cross-boundary collaboration and translation of research findings to ensure impact.

The conference will be held at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, from 6 to 8 December 2012.

Plenary speakers will be Silvia Gherardi, Martin Montgomery, Frances Rock, Margaret Somerville and Tim Usherwood.

Abstracts for individual 20-minute papers (maximally 250 words) or for 90-minute colloquia (maximally 500 words, including a synopsis and paper outlines) on the above themes or related topics should be sent to:
