The research group The English Language in University Settings  (HUM-397) at the University of Seville is pleased to announce the 12th ELIA Conference to be held in Seville, Spain, on July 1-3, 2015.

Renowned national and international scholars in the broad domain of applied linguistics have taken part in all eleven previous ELIA conferences and have made a significant contribution to ELIA's success: Gabrielle Kasper, David Singleton, Angela Labarca, Norbert Schmitt, Jasone Cenoz, Anne-Marie de Mejía, Sima Paribakht, Robert DeKeyser, and Carmen Muñoz.

The theme for the 2015 conference will be Issues in Intercultural Learning and Teaching across L2 Contexts and Situations (i.e., interculturality in foreign / second language education—from preschool to university settings). The keynote speakers at the 12th ELIA Conference will be Dr. Prue Holmes (Durham University, UK) and Dr. M. Carmen Méndez García (University of Jaen, Spain).

A selection of the papers presented at the conference will be published in the Spanish journal Studies in Applied English Linguistics / Estudios de lingüística inglesa aplicada (ELIA). An edited volume including selected original contributions addressing the conference theme is also planned.
