12th UNIVERSITY OF SEVILLE CONFERENCE ON APPLIED LINGUISTICS (ELIA)
The research group The
English Language in University Settings (HUM-397) at the University
of Seville is pleased to announce the 12th ELIA Conference to be held in
Seville, Spain, on July 1-3, 2015.
Renowned national and
international scholars in the broad domain of applied linguistics have taken
part in all eleven previous ELIA conferences and have made a significant
contribution to ELIA's success: Gabrielle Kasper, David Singleton, Angela
Labarca, Norbert Schmitt, Jasone Cenoz, Anne-Marie de Mejía, Sima Paribakht,
Robert DeKeyser, and Carmen Muñoz.
The theme for the 2015
conference will be Issues in Intercultural Learning and Teaching across L2
Contexts and Situations (i.e., interculturality in foreign / second
language education—from preschool to university settings). The keynote
speakers at the 12th ELIA Conference will be Dr. Prue Holmes (Durham
University, UK) and Dr. M. Carmen Méndez García (University of
Jaen, Spain).
A selection of the papers
presented at the conference will be published in the Spanish journal Studies
in Applied English Linguistics / Estudios de lingüística inglesa aplicada (ELIA).
An edited volume including selected original contributions addressing
the conference theme is also planned.
